About the HKN Experience

The HKN Experience

The HKN Experience is not a conference, it is an avenue through which HKN members worldwide can interact, learn from one another and support the global community. It will take many forms as it evolves from its inaugural program, which begins on Founders Day 2020.

The inaugural event, to be held 28 October through 7 November, is an online series of conversations with luminaries in our fields, professional development seminars, panel sessions, and networking and social events. It will bring together students, young professionals, HKN alumni, IEEE members and engineering professionals for these impactful sessions plus a virtual career and graduate school recruitment fair. This premier event will conclude with an Awards Ceremony and a celebration of the entire HKN community.

IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu offers a shared sense of identity to members. The HKN Experience builds on a tradition of offering opportunities for connecting and reconnecting throughout our members’ careers and will provide a support structure for learning in the flow of work and learning in the flow of career. The strongest and most useful learning emerges out of connection, community, and a shared sense of identity over time. What better way to foster that learning than by bringing leaders in the field together with undergraduate students and those just starting their careers.
